I've been itching to do a piece on Wendy Carlos for sometime. Originally known as Walter, she pioneered the monophonic synthesizer built by Robert Moog and founded the building blocks of synthesized music.
She did the soundtracks for Clockwork Orange and the original Tron, and massively influenced many of the artists using synthesizers today.
I'm probably going to use this portrait in conjunction with a larger image showing some of her equipment.
